The Pioneer Trail at Saint-Venant-de-Paquette Hermine Malouin Lefebvre

HERMINE MALOUIN LEFEBVRE
1841-1941

Born in St-Barthélémy de Maskinongé, Hermine Malouin was not afraid of anything. Reportedly, «very robust» this rugged pioneer came to St-Venant-de-Paquette in 1861, in the early stages of her marriage. The daily challenges of living in an undeveloped part of the country never daunted Mrs Hermine. Walking long distances, or using a hammer, a shovel or a pick, were all tasks that she carried out along with others doing the ground work to develop the village. For over 80 years, she saw the municipality come to life and grow, with the construction of businesses and the village church, the arrival of the teaching nuns, etc. (Near the municipal room)
