How does it work ?

Each pioneer is represented in a life-size silhouette cut-out of a Corten steel planel, a magnificent work of art in itself ! The cutout statue permanently installed in a dedicated space that visitors can stop by and visit any time of the year, except January and February.

Each character contains a built-in audio device (you can also use your smartphone) that will talk to you for five minutes in French and five minutes in English. The pioneers tell you all about the history and notable events of their time.

Gardens of Pionneers

Some of the characters are surrounded by a permanent «garden of pionneers »: Arthur O. Norton à Coaticook, Carlton Ayer à Ayer’s Cliff, Charles James Stewart à Hatley et Henrietta Ball-Banting à Stanstead. Each one was created to accompany, embellish, and liven up the steel cutout statue.
